About Dwight C. Brown

Dwight Brown has been involved in music for over 23 years. Upon graduating from Southmoreland Senior High School, he attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where he earned a B.A. in Music Education with a concentration in piano. He was honored with The William B. Hatfield Fine Arts Award given to an outstanding senior in the areas of visual and performing arts.

After graduating he accepted a position as choir director in the Maysville School District in Zanesville, Ohio. Dwight eventually returned to Southmoreland where he was the Director of Choral Studies for seven years and was inducted into Who's Who Among High School Teachers.

Dwight opened Good Sound Studio after leaving full-time teaching so he could focus on providing recording services, as well as offering private instruction, choral directing, composing and performance.

Dwight has over 15 years of experience in private instruction in both piano and voice and a former member of the Westmoreland Choral Society. He is the conductor for the Greater Scottdale Area Choral Society and music director for the Christ United Methodist Church in Scottdale in addition to having conducted and accompanied various church choirs in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania. He holds memberships in WCMEA, PMEA and MENC, and has been involved in several community theatre productions.

Currently Dwight resides in New Stanton with his wife Amy and two dogs Benson and Rudi.
